Dragonflies in Connecticut

Dragonflies are a beneficial insect in Connecticut, or any place for that matter, that has a sizeable mosquito population as they eat the annoying pests. The most common one here is the common green darner, a migratory species that heads to the Connecticut coastline in the fall. These insects are excellent fliers that hover like a helicopter.
